Overview

Chapters exist within projects. Studio members can add chapters to a project by uploading folders containing image files, and can choose to localize them to other languages at any time.

Attributes of a Chapter

Name Description
Source Language The source language indicates the language of the files uploaded by studio members.
Target Language The target language indicates the desired languages for localization chosen by studio members.
Chapter Name The display name of a chapter. 100 character max.
Chapter Thumbnail The display image of a chapter. Studio members can upload an image or choose from a list of auto-generated options.
Reading Direction The reading direction is defined by studio members and can be either "Left-to-right" or "Right-to-left". This information will be used to order the translation text inside the Studio Editor.
Reading Style The reading style is defined by studio members and can be either "page by page" or "vertical". This information will affect the layout of the Studio Editor.
In page-by-page reading style, each file in the chapter is not connected to adjacent pages.
In vertical reading style, all image files will be joined vertically to create a long, seamless strip.
Files The list of image files in a chapter that are uploaded by studio members. These are the comic pages that readers will consume.
Collaborators The list of users who are not members of the studio but can collaborate on a specific chapter. Studio members can invite collaborators via email.
Chapter collaborators can have different levels of access to a chapter. They can be invited to view, comment, or edit the chapter by studio members.
Status A chapter’s status can be either "Draft" or "Published". When the status is "Draft", the chapter is only accessible by studio members. When the status is "Published", it can be accessible by the public depending on the project's sharing permissions.
Version History A chapter version allows users to view the changes made to their files over time. Studio members can compare different versions and restore an old chapter version to be the latest one.
If there are no new changes made to the chapter's files for at least 15 minutes, all the latest changes will be automatically submitted as a new version.
